Easy-to-Navigate (Custom Colors) eLearning Template Tutorial

This tutorial page is a bonus set of helpful hints for those of us who are visual learners. I’m going to show you screenshots of how to customize the template you purchased using Google Slides.

Use these tips on your Custom Colors Easy-to-Navigate Distance Learning eLearning Template pages to add your own colors, content, create links and personalize it.

How it works

I’ll be using my free Jungle theme version for this example, but your theme will work the same way.

First, let’s cover how it works.

Students will click through pages of tasks – pages that you determine the content. The navigation between pages is all set up for you and makes getting to each thing easy.

Here’s a video to show how the homepage buttons and navigation works:

Your purchased theme may have additional tasks or homepage buttons – but all themes are just as easy to edit and just as easy for students to navigate the completed presentation.

How to change colors

Your theme allows you to change the colors of:

  • the main title
  • the rectangle buttons
  • the navigation bar background
  • the numbered circles

To change any object in the bulleted list above, click the object then select the “Fill color” paint bucket icon and your color choice. You can also create custom colors.

You can, of course, change the color of the text directions and labels on any of the buttons. Highlight the text you want to change and then select the text color icon to choose your color.

You cannot change the colors of the home, forward arrow, back arrow, or checkmark icons.

How to change the main title on the homepage

To change to words in the title, double-click the “Let’s get learning!” title and type in your preferred title in the small box that appears. Then hit “Enter” to save.

You can change the:

  • fill color
  • border color
  • border weight
  • font

Use the options in the toolbar to make your desired changes.

How to customize

I’ll be using my free Jungle theme version as an example for setting up the rest of your template, but your theme will work the same way.
